Sacramento Police Homicide Detectives have identified a second suspect in the Homicide of Cameron Jones. At approximately 8:53 p.m., February 1, 2000, the Sacramento Police Department received a call of a disturbance at 916 24th Street #2. Officers and Fire Personnel arrived and located Cameron Jones with stab wounds to the upper torso. Jones was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators have determined the victim was inside his apartment when an altercation erupted between (V) Jones, (S) Ahart and an unknown male. During the altercation Jones was stabbed and died at the scene. (S) KELLY ESTEP, male, Hispanic, 31 years of age, DOB: 02/27/1969, 6’-1”, 230 lbs., black hair, brown eyes, had driven the other two suspects to and from the scene. An arrest warrant for Ahart and Estep has been issued charging them both with one count of 187 P.C. - Homicide.
Estep was last seen on 5/26/2000 at 7920 Fair Oaks Blvd. Estep may be in San Francisco and possibly headed to the Chico area.
Estep is considered Armed and Dangerous, and has been seen in the possession of a handgun.
