Traffic Impact Due to Olympic Trials

Starting July 14th 2000, through July 23rd 2000, during the Olympic Trials Event, expect mild to moderate delays two hours before and one hour after the scheduled event times.  The following intersections and Highway Off-Ramps will be affected:

65th Street Expressway, Folsom Blvd, Howe Ave Off-Ramp, College Town Drive and Hornet Drive.  Highway 50 may also be impacted due to the increased volume of traffic during the Olympic Trials Event.

The Sacramento Police Department expects more than 23, 000 people daily for the Olympic Trials Event and there may be shortages of parking.  There will be a free shuttle service at Cal Expo from Lot H to California State University Sacramento.  The Sacramento Police Department encourages use of alternative methods of transportation, including Regional Transit Light Rail and use of area bike trails.
