WITNESS SOUGHT IN BEATING DEATH

Sacramento Police Detectives are asking the public’s help in locating a witness to the beating death of Artemio Becerril Cabrera MH36 (DOB 4/3/1964).  Mr. Cabrera was assaulted in the parking lot of a business north of Jose’s Hideaway, 2200 Northgate Blvd. in the early morning hours of Sunday, August 13, 2000.  He died later that day at the UC Davis Medical Center as a result of head trauma suffered in the beating.

The witness has been identified as Javier Padilla MH24 (DOB 8/12/1976).  He is 5'6" tall, 125lbs, medium complexion, brown hair and brown eyes.  Mr. Padilla was last living in the five hundred block of Peralta Ave and has other family who live in the three hundred block of Harding Ave.  Mr. Padilla was identified as having been present and witnessed  the assault of Mr. Cabrera.

The suspects are described as #1 MH 23-25 years of age, 5'6" tall, heavy build, mustache, light complexion, wearing a black full brim hat, sunglasses, dressed in a white tee shirt, blue denim baggy shorts and hiking boots; #2 MH 23-25 years of age, 5'4" tall, thin build, dark brown close-cut hair, slim build, light complexion, dressed in a white tee shirt with unknown design on the front, blue denim shorts and hiking boots.
