Purse Snatch Series
Recently there have been numerous purse snatches in the southeast portion of the City of Sacramento (Sector 6) where the victims of these robberies have been female Asians. These crimes of opportunity have been occurring primarily along the Stockton Blvd. corridor in Asian community parking lots. The robberies have occurred as the female victims were exiting or entering their cars. In some instances, the victims have been attacked at their homes and possibly followed by suspects. Some of the victims were carrying large amounts of money when accosted.
There have been multiple suspects, varying in ethnicity, age, physical
description, and methods of transportation. The Sacramento Police
Department wants to remind the community, the holiday season is approaching.
Be aware of your surroundings when shopping and report any suspicious activity
to the Sacramento Police Department or your local law enforcement agency.
