CAPTAIN HONORED FOR SERVICE TO YOUTH

On May 30, 2002, at 12:30 p.m., at the Dante Club (2330 Fair Oaks Boulevard), Captain Ernie Daniels will be honored with the “Service To Youth Award” from the Active 20-30 Club of Sacramento.  Captain Daniels is being honored for his distinguished service to the youth in our community.

Captain Daniels is a 26-year veteran of the Sacramento Police Department.  He developed and implemented the police department’s Family and Youth Services Division in 1999.  The Department  recognized the continuing regional development and influx of residents to this community that required an ongoing, pro-active process of dealing with family and youth issues.
The Family and Youth Services Division was established to work in partnership with the community to reduce violence, create safer neighborhoods, and to allow opportunities for youths and their families to create an overall safer domestic environment.

Captain Ernie Daniels is currently assigned to the Office of Technical Services and oversees the  criminal justice academies at Grant, Hiram Johnson, and Kennedy High Schools.  He also volunteers at Father Keith B. Kenny Elementary School and with Stanford Settlement.

The Active 20-30 Club of Sacramento will be donating $500 to Stanford Settlement in Captain Daniels name.

Below is a photo of Captain Daniels with his son.

Media is welcome to cover this event and Captain Daniels will be available for comment and interview.
