POLICE RECRUITS COMPLETE ACADEMY TRAINING

On Friday, June 14, 2002, at 2:00 p.m., 20 Sacramento Police Department Recruits and 12 outside agency recruits will graduate from the Sacramento Police Academy in the Little Theater at American River College, 4700 College Oak Drive.

The Academy graduates have completed an intensive 23-week academy that included 1,080 hours of instruction on Criminal Law, Cultural Diversity, Community Relations, Report Writing, First Aid/CPR, Firearms, E.V.O.C. (Emergency Vehicle Operation Course), and several other courses.  The graduates will be sworn in as Police Officers and will subsequently enter a 6 to 9 month Field Training Program.  The graduates are from the Sacramento Police Department, Roseville Police  Department, South Lake Tahoe Police Department, and the Berkeley Police Department.
