The first “City Beat” episode will focus on the rich history and traditions of the Sacramento Police Department.  The show will also be aired on KVIE Cable 7 at 10:00 p.m. and Access Cable Channel 73 on Wednesday, June 26, 2002 at 5:00 p.m.; Thusday, June 27, 2002, at 9:00 p.m and Friday, June 28, 2002 at 5:00 p.m.

The “City Beat” television show will consist of five different episodes, including recruiting and Community Oriented Policing, and will be aired throughout the year.  The show is part of a larger recruiting effort that includes increased advertising and a $240,000 “Hiring in The Spirit of Service” grant from the Police Foundation.  The Department is one of five law enforcement agencies nationwide who have been selected to participate in an exciting new project that will guide the future of recruiting, and selecting police candidates throughout the country.
