ROBBERY OF ELDERLY MALES IN THE CENTRAL CITY AREA

The Sacramento Police Department is seeking  the communities help in identifying individuals who are assaulting then robbing elderly males in the Central City and Mid-Town areas of Sacramento.

The victims in these cases, all male whites ranging from 70 to 82 years of age, are approached from behind, physically assaulted, then robbed of their wallets and valuables.  These incidents have occurred as the victims are walking during the evening or early morning hours.  There are currently no suspect descriptions in any of these cases.
 
The Sacramento Police department is asking that if anyone has information regarding these incidents to contact the North Robbery-Burglary Detectives at 566-2414.  The Police Department is also asking the community to be on alert.  If you observe suspicious activity in your neighborhood please call the Police Department at 264-5471.  If you happen to see an assault in progress, you should call 911 immediately.

Tips for those walking in their neighborhoods:

• try to walk with a friend or in groups
• walk during the daylight hours if temperatures allow
• if you can, leave your valuables at home or carry small amounts of cash
• be alert of your surrounds and walk in well lighted and populated areas
