HOMICIDE SUSPECT

Sacramento Police Homicide Detectives are investigating a  homicide which occurred at the Arco Am/Pm at 6698 Mack Rd.  On 08/19/02 at approximately1:25 a.m. the Sacramento Police Department received a  911 call from the convenience store regarding shots fired with a subject down .  Officers responded and found a  male African American down in the parking lot with a gunshot wound to the upper torso.  The subject was pronounced deceased by Sacramento Fire  Department personnel.  The victim has been identified as Tyreko Johns, African American, DOB  05-16-76.   The shooting suspect has been identified and is wanted for murder.
 


              SUSPECT IDENTIFIED

Stevens, Laquell , African American male, DOB 08/17/71, 5'9"150 lbs,  black hair with corn rows.

 
            SUSPECT VEHICLES

Late 70's or early 80's, 4 door, Chevy, Black with Grey  top, tinted windows with chrome spoke wheels.

80's, 2 door, Pontiac possibly a Bonneville, Tan over burnt Orange, with chrome blade wheels.  Fresh custom paint job.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Alert at (916) 443-HELP or (800) AA-CRIME.  Callers can remain anonymous and can earn up to $1,000 reward.  The suspect should be considered armed and dangerous.
