POLICE HEADQUARTERS IS MOVING

Sacramento Police Department’s Headquarters Building, currently located at 900 8th Street, will begin to move into its new location (Public Safety Administration Building, 5770 Freeport Blvd.) starting tomorrow, August 23, 2002.  The entire move of staff and equipment of the building is expected to be completed by mid-October as we will be moving in phases.  During our move process, administrative and detective phone lines will be switched which may cause some initial difficulty in reaching certain units.

As always, if you have an emergency, please dial 9-1-1.

Please note the following closures which may affect the public:

The Forensic Identification Kiosk will be closing at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 28, 2002 and reopening at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 3, 2002 in the lobby of the Public Safety Administration Building.

The Records Division Public Counter will be closing at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 29, 2002 and reopening at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 3, 2002 in the lobby of the Public Safety Administration Building.

Effective Monday, August 26, 2002, the new number for the Public Information Office will be 433-0808.
