The second episode of the Sacramento Police Department’s “City Beat” television show will be airing this weekend on Sunday, August 25, 2002 at 12:30 p.m. on KXTV Channel 10.  This episode will also be re-aired four times in the month of August:

Sunday, August 25 at 10:30 p.m. on KVIE cable channel 7
Wednesday, August 28 at 5:00 p.m. on Access Sacramento cable channel 73
Thursday, August 29 at 9:00 p.m. on Access Sacramento cable channel 73
Friday, August 30 at 1:00 a.m. on Access Sacramento cable channel 73

City Beat is a 30 minute, commercial free show that spotlights the Sacramento Police Department which will be aired throughout the year.  The show is part of a larger recruiting effort that includes increased advertising and a $240,000 “Hiring in The Spirit of Service” grant from the Police Foundation.  The Sacramento Police Department is one of five law enforcement agencies nationwide that was selected to participate in this exciting new project that will guide the future of recruiting and selecting police candidates throughout the country.

The August episode will focus on Community Oriented Policing and how this philosophy has been fully embraced by the Sacramento Police Department.
