Sacramento Police Homicide Detectives are investigating a homicide that occurred at 1723 U Street, #6. On September 6, 2002, at approximately 6:02 a.m., the Sacramento Police Department received a call from a subject stating his son had called him to come to his residence. When he arrived, he observed blood all over his son’s apartment. Officers responded and found a female down in the bathroom and a male down on a bed inside the residence. Both subjects were covered in blood. Additionally, a one-year-old child was found inside the residence unharmed. Upon contact, the male subject got up from the bed and was combative with officers. The female subject was pronounced by Sacramento Fire Department personnel.
Sacramento Police Department investigators
are currently attempting to obtain a search warrant to process the scene.
The male subject was transported to the UC Davis Medical Center in
serious condition. The preliminary investigation indicates that this
was a domestic violence situation.
UPDATE
Suspect arrested: Hicks, Correll, D.O.B. 09-15-1975. Suspect was the male adult who was found inside the residence. Suspect and victim had a child and lived together. Suspect is currently being treated at UC Davis Medical Center and once medically cleared will be booked at the Sacramento County Main Jail on the charge of murder.
