DRIVE BY SHOOTING

Sacramento Police Homicide Detectives are investigating a drive by homicide.  On September 11, 2002, at approximately 10:10 p.m, Sacramento Police Officers responded to the area of 8147 Eddington Way regarding a subject who had been shot.  The victim, positively identified as Tommy Xiong, male Asian, 22 years old, DOB 7-21-82, was located by officers lying in front of the residence.  It appeared that Xiong suffered from a gunshot wound to the upper torso.  Xiong was transported to UCDMC by Sacramento Fire where he was pronounced dead.

Witnesses report seeing two vehicles driving aggressively in the area, an argument between two groups of young men, and the sounds of shots fired.

The Sacramento Police Department is currently looking for two suspect vehicles: #1 is described as a late 80's 4dr Honda, gold in color and lowered. #2 is described as an early 90's 2dr Acura Integra, black in color with tinted rear windows.

The suspects are described as 4 - 5 male Asians between the ages of 16 and 25.

UPDATE

On September 12, 2002, at approximately 3:00 p.m., members from the Sacramento Police Department's Career Criminal Apprehension Team and the Department of Justice located and arrested the suspect responsible for the homicide.  The suspect was located in the G Parkway area of Sacramento.  The suspect is a male juvenile (17 years of age), therefore his name will not be released.  The juvenile suspect was transported and booked at Sacramento County Juvenile Hall on the charge of murder.
