Sacramento Police Department Homicide Detectives are investigating a homicide that occurred at 7508 Franklin Bl #3.  On September 19, 2002, at approximately 3:45 a.m., the Sacramento Police Department received a call from a subject stating that someone had been shot at the residence.  Officers arrived and found a male in the upstairs portion of the residence.  The male subject was not responsive and appeared to have received a gunshot wound to the upper torso.  The male subject was pronounced deceased by Sacramento Fire Department personnel.

Homicide Detectives have determined that the victim lived at 7508 Franklin Bl #3 with his girlfriend and several children.  Prior to the shooting the victim’s girlfriend’s ex-boyfriend arrived at the residence with three other subjects.  The subjects were let into the residence.  After a period of time the victim got into an altercation with the four subjects that arrived at the residence.  During the altercation one of the subjects pulled out a handgun and shot the victim.

The suspects have been described as male, black in their 20's.  The shooting may possibly be gang related.
