BOMB THREAT

On September 24, 2002, at approximately 7:54 a.m., the Sacramento Police Department received a call from a subject on a cellular phone who indicated that a bomb was placed at Luther Burbank High School.  A second call was also received and the caller indicated that there was going to be another “Columbine High School” incident.

Sacramento Police Department conducted an immediate investigation identifying the suspect.  The suspect was taken into custody without incident (off campus).  The suspect is a male juvenile (16 years of age) and is a student of Luther Burbank High School.  Investigators did not locate any evidence that substantiated the juvenile’s threats.  Additionally, the juvenile was found to be in possession of a stolen cellular phone.

The suspect was transported and incarcerated at Sacramento County Juvenile Hall on charges of terrorist threats, bomb threat, and possession of stolen property.
