The Sacramento Police Department will be holding a press conference on Thursday, October 3, 2002, at
10:15 a.m., at the Franklin Villa Community Center, 29 Caselli Circle.

The Sacramento Police Department will be showcasing its partnership with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) in combating the narcotic problem that has plagued the Franklin Villa area.

The Franklin Villa POP team, in partnership with DEA-MET, have concluded phase one of an on-going operation to eradicate narcotic activity within Franklin Villa.

Chief of Police Arturo Venegas Jr, Agent In Charge of Sacramento DEA  Gordon Taylor, and Captain John Parker (SPD) will provide an overview of the partnership and how the agencies are working togther to help revitalize the Franklin Villa community.  Additionally, Councilmembers Dave Jones and Bonnie Pannell, who have been key partners in the operation, will be present.

Sergeant Burt Yoshioka of the Sacramento Police Department who is in charge of the enforcement team that works in Franklin Villa will also be available to answer questions regarding the operation.
