The Sacramento Police Department’s Sexual Assault and Child Abuse (S.A.C.A) Unit, in partnership with an investigator assigned to the Unit from the California Bureau of Investigation, Sexual Predator Apprehension Team, concluded a month long investigation. This investigation led to the serving of a search warrant at 19 Durazno Court this morning, December 12, 2002, at approximately 7:05 a.m. This partnership has provided the Police Department additional resources in investigating and arresting sexual predators in the City of Sacramento. At the residence, Christopher Todd Hettiger (D.O.B.- 08-26-66) was taken into custody without incident. Hettiger was transported and incarcerated at the Sacramento County Main Jail on a variety of charges stemming from the alleged sexual assault of a 12 year old male.
On November 3, 2002, the Sacramento Police Department received a crime report from Livermore Police Department indicating that the victim was sexually assaulted by Hettiger over approximately one year’s time. The victim and his mother recently moved to Livermore from Sacramento. After his mother found out about the alleged sexual assault in Sacramento, she notified the Livermore Police Department.
