HOMICIDE OF A SEVEN YEAR OLD BOY

Sacramento Police Homicide Detectives are investigating the suspicious death of a seven year old child. On December 27, 2002, at approximately 12:30 a.m, the Sacramento Police Department received a call from the U.C. Davis Medical Center regarding a patient in their emergency room with possible “blunt force trauma” type injuries.  The child, a seven year old boy, was in grave condition and on life support systems when officers arrived.

The child’s family told the responding officers that their son fell out of bed.  However, emergency room physicians determined that the child’s injuries were not indicative of a fall out of bed, but more consistent with  a violent shaking.   Due to the disparities between the injury and the explanation offered by the child’s family, Homicide detectives were notified.

On December 27, 2002, at approximately 10:00 p.m., the child,  Mcimely Dearing,  D.O.B. 10/18/95, was removed from life support and passed away shortly thereafter.

Homicide detectives interviewed family members and subsequently arrested the victim’s mother’s fiancee.
Arrested on one charge of homicide was Michael James Shukry, D.O.B. 08/11/80.
