SUSPICIOUS DEATH



On Thursday May 22, 2003, at approximately 5:36 a.m., a Sacramento Police officer was notified of a possible deceased individual on the pipe bridge above the American River east of Highway 160.  The officer arrived and located one male white subject, approximately 40 years old laying face up with some clothing covering his face.  The subject appeared to have some trauma to his head.

Sacramento Police Department Homicide Detectives responded to the scene to conduct an investigation.

According to witnesses, the victim was last seen alive at approximately 9:30 p.m., last night in the area where he was located.  The autopsy has revealed that the subject died as a result of a skull fracture most likely due to blunt force trauma.

The victim’s name is not being released at this time pending notification of next of kin.
