Gypsy Burglars
The Sacramento Police Department is asking the community to be on alert.  On two separate occasions suspects who work in concert have lured an elderly victims from their homes while another suspect enters the unoccupied home, stealing cash, jewelry, and other items.

On July 28, 2003, at approximately 2:15 p.m. a male, olive skinned adult knocked on the door of an 83 year old victim who lives in the area of the 1000 block of West El Camino.  The male suspect told the victim he was there because his neighbors were complaining about his tress interfering with the phone lines.  The victim told the suspect he would meet him around the side of the house, then closed the door.  The victim proceeded to the side of the house where he met one of the suspects.  Shortly after, the victim’s wife also exited the house with a second suspect close behind.  Soon after both suspect left and when the victims went back into their residence they discovered cash and other items were taken.

Suspect descriptions:      Male adult, unknown race-olive skinned), 37 years old, 5'8", 145 lbs., brown hair (crew cut),
                                                medium build, white "T"  shirt, denim  jeans.  The second suspect was described the same
                                                except height and weight-5"10", 175 lbs

Suspect vehicle:                 Newer model GMC extended cab, pick-up truck

On July 27, 2003, at approximately 1:30 p.m., a male hispanic adult rang the doorbell at a residence located at the 2200 block of 14th Street.  An 86 year old female victim answered the door and the suspect stated he was doing work next door.  Soon after talking to the suspect she heard someone knocking on a gate located in her backyard.  The victim went to investigate and located a female Hispanic adult who stated that she wanted to talk with her regarding the work that they were doing in the neighbors backyard.  The female suspect kept the victim occupied for approximately 10-15 minutes.  The female suspect then left, getting into a newer red compact vehicle with the male suspect she had previously talked to at her front door.  Shortly after the suspect left the victim discovered cash, jewelry, and other items missing from the residence.

Suspect descriptions:      Male Hispanic, 20-30 years of age, 5'6"-5'7", black hair and balding, red shirt
                                                Female Hispanic, 20-30 years of age, 5'5"-5'6", black hair, thin build, black shirt
