Homicide Update

On August 18, 2003, at approximately 7:25 a.m.,  the Sacramento Police Department responded to a 911 call at 2019 “F” Street regarding an assault victim.  The caller indicated that his nephew had been stabbed and was laying on the floor of the lower level of 2019 “F” Street.

Patrol Officers arrived and located a male white, later identified as Bryan Tatum, DOB 12/18/81, bleeding from what appeared to be stab wounds to his upper torso.  The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
 

Homicide Detectives have learned that the victim was seen with a male, African American, in the area of the Bonfare Market at 20th and H Streets and his residence at 2019 “F” Street, Sunday evening.  The victim was last seen between 10:30-11:00 p.m. on Sunday August 17th.

Attached are still photos from the surveillance video at Bonfare Market.  The subject was wearing a blue and black checkered flannel shirt, dark blue shorts and white tennis shoes.  Homicide Detectives are seeking the identity of the African American male and would like to speak to this individual who is a possible witness and may be able to provide additional information on the suspect.  Anyone who recognizes the subject with the victim in these photos is encouraged to call police.
