HOMICIDE

On Wednesday, August 20th,2003, at approximately 11:29 p.m., the Sacramento Police Department received a 911 call reporting the sound of gunshots at the Taco Bell restaurant, at 5550 Martin Luther King Blvd.  Patrol officers arrived on scene within two minutes and discovered two gunshot victims.  The victims were medically treated at the scene and, subsequently transported to the UCD Medical Center.  One victim died as a result of the gunshot wounds. The other victim was listed in critical condition.  The victims’ names are being withheld at this time pending notification of next of kin.

Homicide detectives responded to investigate and determined that the victims were in their car, in the restaurant’s drive-thru, ordering food.  The suspects approached the victims’ car on foot and fired several gunshots at the victims.  The suspects left the scene on foot.  The motive has not been determined.

The suspects were described as follows: Male black adult, mid-twenties, medium build.  Wearing a dark blue pullover shirt, blue denim pants, and a light blue baseball hat.  The other suspect was described as a Hispanic or mixed race adult, 18 years old, clean shaven, 5' 6" to 5' 7", thin build, wearing a khaki baseball cap, blue denim pants, white pullover shirt and white athletic shoes.
