One Dies and 4 injured in 3 car collision

On September 10, 2003, at approximately 6:52 p.m., the Sacramento Police Department responded to a three car collision at Florin Road and 24th Street.   The preliminary investigation revealed that a 78-year-old male traveling west in a Toyota Tacoma pick-up truck ran a red light and collided with a Toyota Camry and a Dodge Ram 1500 pick-up truck, that were traveling north on 24th Street. The 76-year-old female passenger in the Toyota Truck sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene while the driver was transported to the U.C. Davis Medical Center with serious injuries. The three occupants of the Toyota Camry were treated for minor to moderate injuries and the driver of the Dodge was uninjured.  Although the case is still under investigation, it appears alcohol was a factor in the collision.
