On Tuesday, September 30, 2003, at approximately 3:00 p.m., a shooting occurred at 5th Avenue and Freeport Boulevard. The initial investigation indicates that the victim and suspect had an argument which resulted in the suspect firing one shot, striking the victim in the head. The victim was transported to the U.C. Davis Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased.
The victim was a 15 year old male Hispanic who was currently on suspension from McClatchy High School.
The suspect who has been determined
to be the “shooter” has been identified as:

Asian, DOB 4/15/84,
5'6", 130 lbs.,
brown eyes, black hair

Homicide investigators are also looking for two additional juvenile suspects who were involved in the physical altercation that led to the shooting. As these suspects are juveniles, they will not be identified at this time.

The Sacramento Police Department’s
Problem Oriented Policing (POP) team members and School Resource Officers
(SROs) are working on the high school campuses and adjacent neighborhoods
to ensure safety.
