BANK ROBBERIES

The Sacramento Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying two suspects responsible for two bank robberies in the City of Sacramento in recent weeks.

On September 29, 2003, at approximately 11:45 a.m., two suspects were buzzed in through the front entrance of Provident Credit Union (8343 Folsom Blvd., #300).  Once inside, the suspects jumped the counter and demanded money from the employees.  The suspects fled in a late 1980’s turquoise Ford Escort that was driven by a third male Hispanic suspect.

On October 10, 2003, at approximately 9:45 a.m., employees of the California Credit Union (5921 Folsom Blvd.) saw a male Hispanic subject walking around the bank and looking in the windows.  A couple minutes later, two suspects (same suspects as above) entered the business.  The first suspect had a revolver and asked where the vault was.  Employees took the suspect to the vault while a second suspect stayed in the front lobby and told everyone to get on the ground.  The suspects then told the employees to get into the vault and closed the vault door.  The suspects fled on foot.

The suspects are described as follows:

SUSPECT #1:  male Hispanic or male Black, 20-30 years old, 5’9”, 135 lbs, dark short hair, brown eyes, light complexion, goatee, broken teeth, medium build.  Suspect #1 has a Hispanic accent and was armed with a chrome .38 revolver.  (See photo attached)

SUSPECT #2:  male Hispanic, 20-30 years old, 5’8”, 150 lbs, shaved head, light complexion, goatee, medium build.  Suspect #2 has a green tattoo of a word that ended in “RO” on the right side of his neck/head area.  (See photo attached)

Anyone with information regarding these robberies is asked to call Crime Alert at 443-HELP or (800) AA-CRIME.  Callers may remain anonymous and can earn up to a $1,000 reward.
