The victim, Renell Simmons, expired on October 31, 2003 at the UC Davis Medical Center as a result of his injuries.

Investigators identified Moshe Strong as the individual who was physically fighting with the victim and may have provoked the shooting. On October 27, 2003, Moshe Strong contacted investigators regarding his involvement and was subsequently booked on attempted murder charges. Those charges have been amended to murder after the victim died.

Investigators have identified the second suspect as Parrish Taylor, male African American, DOB 06/12/79, 5’ 11”, 200 Ibs with black hair and brown eyes.  Taylor should be considered armed and dangerous.
