HOMICIDE UPDATE

On Friday, December 5, 2003, at approximately 9:08 p.m., the Sacramento Police Department received a 911 call regarding shots fired and a male victim in a truck bleeding.  When Officers arrived they located a male Asian victim in his vehicle bleeding from what appeared to be gunshot wounds to his upper torso.  The victim was pronounced deceased at 9:41 p.m. at the Sacramento Medical Center.  The victim has been identified as Herbert Takeda, male Asian, DOB 06/11/36.

A witness pulling into the parking lot observed a male running to a dark colored vehicle.  The vehicle sped off south and then reportedly went west on Secret River Drive.  Anyone using the Bank of America ATM at 940 Florin Road around 9:08 p.m. on Friday, December 5, 2003, is urged to call the Sacramento Police Department, if they saw anything unusual.  The vehicle was described as a body style similar to a Camaro or Mustang GT.

Homicide Detectives have spoken to an individual who saw a person in the area a few minutes before the incident.  Detectives are seeking the identity of this person and would like to see if he has any additional information.  Attached is a composite of the individual and he is described as a male Hispanic, approximately 6’ tall, 190 lbs, brown eyes, black hair and a mustache and goatee.
