On Sunday, November 14, 2004, at approximately 4:30 p.m., Sacramento Police officers arrested suspect Floyd Malachi, 18, for shooting a subject who tried to protect the victim of a robbery.

On August 30, 2004, Floyd Malachi ambushed the owner of Brick Oven Pizza at 1188 35th Avenue in Sacramento, at gunpoint as he left the building after closing.  As the suspect was accosting the victim, a friend of the victim crashed into the suspect with his vehicle.  Malachi retaliated by shooting at the victims, one of whom was shot in the back.  Malachi crawled out of the wreckage, completed the robbery and limped away.
