Marijuana and Ecstasy
Ring Broken
The Sacramento Police Department, Special
Investigations Division, served search warrants at three locations on Wednesday
afternoon. Four adults were arrested when detectives discovered two
sophisticated indoor marijuana-growing operations at 8464 McGray Way and
9609 Glacier Creek Way in south Sacramento. The suspects’ unique criminal
operation was highlighted by the discovery of employee timecards and a
punch clock at the house on McGray Way.
Detectives found most of the rooms, including
the garage, converted into marijuana grow rooms at 8464 McGray Way.
181 marijuana plants and nine pounds of processed marijuana were seized.
Three of the suspects (Richard Fong, 27 years old, Christopher Mabutas,
23 years old, and Siegfried Ng, 37 years old) were arrested. Approximately
3,000 Ecstasy pills were also found during this search.
Detectives discovered an additional 317
marijuana plants at 9609 Glacier Creek Way.Detectives recovered one handgun,
almost two ounces of crystal methamphetamine, over 180 Ecstasy pills, over
five and one-half grams of suspected MDMA powder (the active ingredient
in Ecstasy pills), and over nine grams of processed marijuana at 4322 Rosecrest
Way. The fourth suspect, Jennifer Mabutas, 26 years old, was arrested
at the Rosecrest Way house.Over $9,000 dollars in cash was seized from
these locations and suspects.
Richard Fong, Christopher Mabutas, and
Siegfried Ng were arrested and charged with conspiracy, possession of Ecstasy
for sale, cultivation of marijuana, and possession of marijuana for sale.
Jennifer Mabutas was arrested and charged with conspiracy and possession
of Ecstasy for sale.
