Bank Robbery Suspect
On June 30, 2005 at approximately 12:30
p.m., the Sacramento Police Department received a 9-1-1 call from the National
Merchants Bank (1015 7th Street) regarding a robbery that had just occurred.
Investigators determined that the suspect entered the bank and approached
a teller. The suspect handed the teller a note demanding money.
The note also indicated that he had a gun and would use if he had to. The
teller handed the suspect an undisclosed amount of cash and fled on foot.
Investigators were able to identify the
suspect as Lorenzo Joe Southerland (DOB: 12-20-57). He was just released
from prison three days ago where he served time for robbery. He is
described as being 6’2”, 180 pounds, black hair, and brown eyes.
He should be considered armed and dangerous.
