Homicide Arrest

On Monday, July 25, 2005 at 9:40 a.m., the Sacramento Police Department received several 911 calls reporting an argument and then a gunshot at the corner of 7th Ave and San Carlos Way.  When officers arrived, they located the victim, Santino Hogan, suffering from a gunshot wound to his head.  Mr. Hogan was transported to the UCD Medical Center where he died from the gunshot wound.  Mr. Hogan was a resident of Sacramento and was 20-years-old.  Homicide investigators responded to the scene and conducted their investigation.

On Tuesday, July 26, 2005, at 1:20 a.m., a 16-year-old male was arrested for this murder.  The suspect was also a resident of Sacramento.  The suspect and Mr. Hogan may have argued over a young lady who Mr. Hogan had previously dated.  The suspect’s identity and photograph is being withheld pending further investigation with several potential witnesses.

No other arrests in this matter are anticipated at this time.  However, anyone with information regarding this case is asked to call Crime Alert at (916) 443-HELP or (800) AA-CRIME.  Callers may remain anonymous and are eligible for up to a $1,000 reward.
