Assault Arrests

Sacramento Police Department Investigators have arrested four juveniles responsible for the assault of a 74 year-old adult that occurred on July 31, 2005.  The victim was brutally attacked by multiple suspects while delivering the Sacramento Bee Newspaper in the area of Modell Way and Mosby Avenue.  The suspects were identified after Sacramento Police Department officers stopped a stolen, red, 2002 Honda Civic at Lindsay and Norwood Avenues at 5:10 a.m. on July 31, 2005.  The driver, 15 years old, was arrested for possession of the stolen vehicle.  Officers attempted to connect the subjects with the assault of the Sacramento Bee carrier, but were unable to confirm their involvement at the time.  Further investigation revealed that all four subjects were in fact responsible for the attack.

Investigators have identified the other vehicle involved (blue, Isuzu Rodeo) and are possibly looking for a fifth suspect.

The three juveniles have been booked at the Sacramento County Juvenile Hall on charges of Attempt Robbery, Attempt Car Jacking, Assault, and Elder Abuse.  Their names will not be released due to their age.  The fourth juvenile who was already in custody for the stolen vehicle was also charged with the aforementioned charges

Anyone with information regarding this case is requested to call Crime Alert at (916) 443-HELP or (800) AA-CRIME.  Callers may remain anonymous and are eligible for up to a $1,000 reward.
