SEXUAL ASSAULT SUSPECT IN CUSTODY

JESUS BACAS GARCIA (D.O.B. 11-10-75) of Sacramento, was taken into custody earlier today for the sexual assault of a juvenile.

On Monday, October 3, 2005, at approximately 5:00 a.m. Sacramento Police Officers responded to the area of El Camino Avenue and Albatross Way in regards to a sexual assault.  Preliminary information indicated that an 11-year-old female victim was sleeping when Garcia entered her residence through an unlocked bedroom window.  Garcia sexually assaulted the victim and fled from the residence on a red full size bicycle.  An extensive investigation headed by detectives from the Sexual Assault/Child Abuse Unit and the Forensic Identification team led to the identity of Garcia as the perpetrator.  Investigators arrested Garcia today, October 4, 2005, at his home at 2724 Connie Drive without incident.

Garcia was booked at the Sacramento County Jail for 288 P.C.-Lewd Acts with a Child and 459 P.C.-Burglary.
