Homicide

On Sunday, November 6, 2005 at 4:44 a.m., the Sacramento Police Department received several 911 calls regarding an in progress stabbing in the parking lot of the Royal 8 Motel at 6448 Stockton Blvd.   When officers arrived, they found an adult male in the parking lot suffering from multiple stab wounds.  Sacramento Fire Department paramedics determined that the victim was deceased at the scene.

Responding officers also located David Earl Gray, 43, in the area of the Motel.  There was blood on Gray’s clothing when he was stopped. He has been interviewed by Homicide detectives and arrested for Murder.  No other suspects are believed to be involved.

It appears that the two men were casual acquaintances and they had a brief verbal confrontation that quickly escalated.  Several residents of the Motel witnessed the murder.

The victim’s identity has not been established and is pending notification of the next of kin.

Suspect David Earl Gray
