This is one of the scariest topics for a parent. A recent example in Sacramento where children encountered a suspicious stranger was on April 23, 2007, and it highlights the importance of this topic.
The work we do as a police department is front end - finding and arresting those that have committed crimes. We provide the citizens that trust us with an invaluable service - making the community safer. But what happens once they leave our responsibility?
On Friday, July 6, 2007, the Roberts Family Development Center kicked off its inaugural “Tour de North Sacramento” bike ride. Our tour featured 6 to 14-year-old children, many from difficult home situations.

The crime mapping data has been updated to include the month of June 2007. The current data contained in the crime mapping tool is for the dates from June 1, 2006 through June 30, 2007.
During the hottest of summer months, watch for heat injuries such as heat exhaustion and sun stroke. Some signs to look for in heat exhaustion are, nausea, headache, weakness, muscle cramping.
There have been a total of five reported home invasions at apartment complexes in the Natomas area. In all five occurrences, the suspect is alone and if a female answers the door the suspect brandishes a small semi-automatic handgun and enters the residence.
The Female Fitness Challenge Saturday Classes schedule for those who had signed up at the Challenge that was held on June 2nd is now updated for the July 7th, July 14th, and July 21st dates.
During the summer months, hundreds of Sacramentan’s will go to the water on boats, jet skis, canoes, and rafts, or will use their own pools. Each year, approximately 6,000 people drown in the United States. In 2004, there were 3,308 unintentional fatal drownings in the United States, averaging nine people per day.
