Dispatch Data Extracts

The Sacramento Police Department provides downloadable Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) data extracts. A CAD system is a highly specialized system that uses telecommunications and geographic display to support police dispatch and response functions. The police department's CAD System provides mission critical mapping capabilities for the 911 call center. The files available below represent annual calls for service received by the Sacramento Police Department, starting in 2005.

To use this data file, please follow these instructions:

  1. Click on the link for data file you wish to download below.
  2. When you see the following dialogue box, click on "Save."
  3. Select a location on your computer to save the file.
  4. Download any supporting information if desired (code list, definition lists, etc).
  5. Go to the file location on your computer and open the comma serparated value (csv) file using the appropriate program from your computer (Microsoft Access, Excel, etc).
