Student Internship Program
Internships with the Sacramento Police Department will expose students to professional and exciting law enforcement based careers within the City of Sacramento that promote academic, career, and personal development!
The Sacramento Police Department is currently accepting applications for college students who are interested in gaining valuable experience through unpaid internships related to the following areas:
- Dispatch/Communications
- Police Supply
- Investigations
- Police Administration
- Information Technology
- Journalism
- Fiscal
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 18 years old
- Must be currently enrolled in college as an undergraduate student
- Must be at least junior class level
- Must maintain a 2.0 GPA or higher
- Valid CA Driver's License
- Minor interview and background investigation
- Must meet college internship requirements
- Interest in law enforcement field
- Two letters of recommendation
- Minimum one year commitment
- No adult or juvenile disqualifying criminal convictions
- Must obtain school internship approval prior to applying
