How will my services as a volunteer be utilized by the Police Department?
Volunteers provide investigative, technical, and office/clerical assistance in many different areas of support services. You let us know what your area of expertise or interest is and we'll do our best to put you there, getting you the valuable law enforcement experience that few are able to gain.

Forensics (CSI) Operations Homeland Security Specialized Units Information Technology Training Investigations
Tasks are varied and extensive, to include answering phones, filing records, data entry, typing, providing information to visitors, assisting in fingerprinting, taking photographs, research, and other clerical duties as needed by Department staff.
What are the eligibility requirements to become a Volunteer?
The minimum age is 18 years old and there is no maximum age limit. All applicants must complete a standard department pre-employment application and background before they can be considered for assignment. You must have a good driving record if you are required to use a city vehicle while performing your volunteer duties.
