Battle of the Shields

Police vs. Fire Fundraiser Basketball Game

On Sunday, March 1, 2009, members of the Sacramento Police and the Fire Departments will face off in a basketball game fundraiser. The game will be played in the gymnasium of Inderkum High School (2500 New Market Drive) and will begin at 4:00 p.m. Tickets are available at the door for only $5; kids 5 years and under are free! There will be food, drinks, and lots of raffle prizes.

Proceeds from this fundraiser will assist Natomas Middle School students who are planning a field trip to Washington D.C. Come out and cheer your local officers and firefighters while showing support for the wonderful kids at Natomas Middle School.

The Police and Fire Departments are looking forward to a friendly competition on the court and are proud to be able to help the children in our community. As for predictions on who will win, Police Captain Daniel Hahn said, “The police will definitely out shoot the fire department.” Fire Captain Jim Doucette said, “The fire team will extinguish all the competition.”
