Missing Couple Being Sought

The Sacramento Police Department is looking for 79-year-old Loan Covaci and 71-year-old Florica Covaci.

On April 13, 2009, at 8:15 p.m., the couple checked into the Governors Inn, located at 210 Richards Boulevard in Downtown Sacramento.  After checking in, the couple dropped off their luggage in the hotel room and walked out of the hotel west-bound onto Richards Blvd.

The missing persons are considered at risk due to their age and suspicious circumstances of their disappearance.

It does not appear as though the missing persons took any personal items with them nor have they returned to their room. Items located inside the room include several bags of luggage, naturalization paperwork, and a small amount of cash.  The missing persons speak minimal English and are believed to be fluent in Romanian.

The Sacramento Police Department urges anyone with information pertaining to these missing persons to contact Crime Alert at (916) 443-HELP or text in a tip by texting to 274637 (CRIMES) then enter SACTIP followed by the tip information. Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward up to $1,000.
