Double Homicide Solved with Arrests

The Sacramento Police Department has arrested 26-year-old Phillip Gonzales and 21-year-old Michael Armstrong for the murder of Deshawn Holloway and Everette Taylor.

On July 21, 2009, at 10:14 p.m., the Police Department responded to Seavey Circle near 5th Street regarding a shooting.  Officers arrived and found 35-year-old Deshawn Holloway dead at the scene from gun shot wounds.  A second victim, 28-year-old Everette Taylor was transported from the scene to U.C. Davis Medical Center in critical condition.  Taylor died the next morning from his injuries.

The Sacramento Police Department's Homicide and Crime Scene Investigators responded and took over the investigation.  Based on the investigation, detectives believe that suspects Gonzales and Armstrong went to Seavey Circle looking for Everette Taylor.  The suspects believed that Taylor had mistreated a female acquintance of theirs.  The suspects confronted Taylor and Holloway.  The confrontation turned physical and at one point, one of the suspects shot the victims.

On July 30, 2009, Phillip Gonzales was arrested at Police Headquarters without incident on murder charges.

On August 2, 2009, Michael Armstrong was arrested after he turned himself in at Police Headquarters.
