Arrest Made In Bar Fight Murder

The Sacramento Police Department arrested 31-year-old Andre Lamont Huerta for the murder of Ryan Mcphee.

On June 19, 2010, at 1:37 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 2000 block of Q Street on a stabbing.  Officers arrived and found an unconscious 23-year-old male on the sidewalk and began to perform CPR.  Sacramento Fire Department responded and declared the victim deceased at the scene.  A second victim, 32-years-old male, was located and transported to an area hospital with non- life threatening stab wounds.

Homicide detectives and Crime Scene Investigators responded.  Based on the investigation, detectives believe that Andre Huerta and two subjects he was with began to argue with Ryan Mcphee inside a bar.  The argument escalated outside when Huerta and Mcphee began to physically fight.  During the fight, Ryan Mcphee was stabbed and later died at the scene.  A second victim tried to break up the fight and was also stabbed.

Detectives received information that led to the identity of Andre Huerta as a suspect in the murder.  On June 19, 2010, at 9:46 p.m., detectives arrested Huerta at his residence in the 1500 block of Fulton Avenue without incident.  No photo of Huerta is being released at this time due to the follow up investigation which still must be completed.

Detectives are still investigating two other male subjects who were with Huerta to determine their involvement in the incident.
