Police Ask Public For Help Identifying a Burglar

The Sacramento Police Department is seeking the community's help to identify a man who burglarized a north area home.

On Tuesday, August 31, 2010, at approximately 11:30 a.m., a male suspect broke into a home in the 5400 block of Duck Walk Way.  No one was home at the time.  The suspect was in the process of exiting the home with some property when the homeowner arrived and confronted him.  The suspect ran to an awaiting vehicle.  The victim chased the suspect but was unable to catch him.  The suspect jumped in the vehicle and fled.

The suspect was described as a male Black adult between 25-35 years old, stocky build, 5'6" in height and weighing approximately 200 lbs.  He had a short black afro-style haircut and a scruffy beard.  He was wearing a black jacket, white t-shirt and black cargo shorts.

The vehicle was described as late 80's or early 90's white Toyota pick-up.  The victim attempted to get the license plate number but was only able to remember it partially. The first part of the license plate number is "4N72."

Detectives hope that someone will come forward with the information needed to identify this suspect.
