Police Need Help to Identify a Burglar

The Sacramento Police Department is asking for the community's help to identify a person suspected of attempting to burglarize one residence and may be involved in burglarizing another.

On January 27, 2011, at approximately 12:39 p.m., a resident in the 2800 block of Honeysuckle Way reported that his alarm system had activated.  The victim had a surveillance camera system and reviewed the time frame of the alarm activation.  The victim observed that a silver car pulled up to his residence, a male got out of the car, went into his backyard, and looked around before triggering the alarm system.  It is believed the alarm activation caused the suspect to flee.  The suspect is described as a male White, 20's, 5'7", 170 lbs, brown hair, red hooded sweatshirt, and red/black shorts.

On the same day, between 12 p.m. and 2 p.m., a residence in the 2700 block of Honeysuckle Way was burglarized.   Entry was made through a window in the back of the house.  Due to the proximity and time frame of this incident to the attempt burglary detectives believe that they may be connected.

The Sacramento Police Department urges anyone with information pertaining to this crime to contact Crime Alert at (916) 443-HELP or text in a tip to 274637 (CRIMES). Enter SACTIP followed by the tip information.  Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
