Arrest Made In Labor Day Weekend Shooting

The Sacramento Police Department has arrested Oscar Gaspar for the murder of 26-year-old Jesus Garcia.

On September 4th, 2011, at 1:36 a.m., officers received a call to the 6800 block of Fruitridge Road on a subject who had been shot outside of a bar.  Officers arrived on scene and located the victim who had been shot multiple times.  He was transported to an area hospital where he later died.

Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators responded to the scene. Based on the preliminary investigation, it is believed both the victim and the suspect encountered each other outside of the bar where the victim was shot. The investigation led to the identification of the suspect as Oscar Gaspar, 21.

On September 6, 2011, Gaspar was contacted at Stockton Boulevard and Fruitridge Road where he was taken into custody without incident. The efforts of the Career Criminal Apprehension Team were instrumental in locating this murder suspect and in his ultimate arrest. Due to the ongoing investigation, his booking photograph is not available.
