Police Search For Hit-and-Run Suspect

The Sacramento Police Department is asking for the community's help in locating the suspect and suspect vehicle involved in a serious injury, hit-and-run accident.

On Saturday, December 31, 2011, at 9:56 p.m., the victim, a 15-year-old female, and her friend were walking eastbound on Valley Hi Drive, near Hitchcock Way, in the bicycle lane. An unknown vehicle traveling the same direction on Valley Hi Drive, struck the teen, knocking her onto the sidewalk. The vehicle continued east without stopping. The victim was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

At the time of the accident, the vehicle was described as dark and boxy with damage to the right front bumper or fender area. Evidence left at the scene was analyzed and detectives now believe the vehicle was a 2006 - 2010 dark Ford Focus, similar to the pictured vehicle. There is no description of the driver, and color of the vehicle is unknown.
