Police Arrest Homicide Suspect

The Sacramento Police Department has arrested Theecree Brown, a 20-year-old Sacramento resident, for the murder of Ubaldo Barraza.

On Sunday, April 22, 2012, at 1:03 a.m., police responded to the 4500 block of Arlington Avenue regarding a man who had been shot.  Upon arrival, officers discovered the 25-year-old victim with a gunshot wound to his upper body.  Medical personnel transported Barraza to the UC Davis Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased.

The Sacramento Police Department's Homicide Unit and Crime Scene Investigations Unit responded to investigate.  During the course of the investigation, detectives developed information that the suspect and victim were engaged in a verbal altercation prior to the shooting.  The motivation appears to be gang-related. Brown's booking photo is not being released at this time due to further investigation.
