Subject Found Shot in Alley

The Sacramento Police Department is investigating the shooting death of a 19-year-old male.

On July 10, 2012, at 1:52 a.m., police responded to the 2100 block of Del Paso Boulevard regarding a welfare check of a subject who was lying in an alleyway.  Upon arrival, officers located the deceased victim and later determined he sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body.

Homicide detectives and Crime Scene Investigators responded to the scene.  Police located several witnesses who saw multiple subjects run into a nearby residence in the 600 block of El Camino Avenue shortly after the shooting.  Officers surrounded the multi-residential building and called for SWAT and the Hostage Negotiation Team.  Several people from inside the units were eventually detained and questioned.

Detectives are actively investigating the circumstances that led to the homicide and have not yet determined a motive.
