On Monday, February 4, 2013 at approximately 8:16 p.m., the Sacramento Police Department responded to the 100 block of El Camino Avenue for a vehicle accident involving a pedestrian.

The 79-year-old female pedestrian succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene by Sacramento fire personnel.

The woman was walking across El Camino Avenue bringing flowers to a vigil that was taking place nearby.  A sport utility vehicle was traveling west on El Camino and struck the woman who was in the roadway near Western Avenue.
