Deadly Stabbing Arrest

The Sacramento Police Department is investigating a deadly stabbing stemming from an altercation among friends.

On Sunday, February, 24, 2013, at approximately 10:55 p.m., the Sacramento Police Department was called to the 7700 block of 32nd Avenue regarding a subject that had been stabbed.  The 30-year-old victim was transported to an area hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Responding officers quickly discovered that a physical altercation between two roommates had occurred.  During the fight the victim’s roommate of the past few months armed himself with a kitchen knife and stabbed the victim.  Arriving officers were able to immediately detain the suspect who remained on scene after the assault.

Sacramento Police Homicide detectives and CSI were called out to assist with the investigation.  The suspected assailant, Sixto Rosas, 36, was questioned by detectives and has been booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail for murder.  Detectives believe that this is an isolated incident resulting from an argument between roommates that turned deadly.

The Sacramento Police Department urges anyone with information pertaining to this crime to contact the dispatch center at (916) 264-5471 or Crime Alert at (916) 443-HELP (4357) or text in a tip to 274637 (CRIMES).
